What a pay run does
Pick a month. Everyone employed during it is included. Basic salary comes from the employee record; allowances, overtime, bonuses and one-off deductions are added per person; approved claims not yet reimbursed become reimbursement lines; and approved unpaid leave reduces ordinary wages using MOM's incomplete-month formula. Joiners and leavers are pro-rated the same way.
CPF is calculated from CPF Board's published rules: the rate for the employee's age band, switching the month after their 55th, 60th, 65th and 70th birthdays; graduated rates for PRs in their first two years; the $50, $500 and $750 wage bands; the Ordinary Wage ceiling; and the annual Additional Wage ceiling, tracked year to date. SDL and CDAC, SINDA, MBMF and ECF contributions are calculated alongside.
Four eyes, then payslips
A pay run is prepared, then approved by a super admin or managing director who is not the preparer — unless the company has only one, in which case self-approval is allowed and recorded. Finalising issues every payslip to the employee's portal, emails them that it is ready (the payslip itself is never emailed), and marks the reimbursed claims paid so they cannot be paid twice.
What it does not do
It prepares a CPF contributions file and a bank-payment file for you to submit. It does not submit to CPF EZPay or your bank, does not file IR8A or AIS with IRAS, and does not calculate Foreign Worker Levy. Payslips do not print the NRIC.
